Flat fee listings make a lot of cents, and can literally save you tens of thousands of dollars in commissions. There is a proviso. You’ve got to be able to get your listing posted in the local MLS and syndicated to Zillow, Realtor.com, Trulia, and elsewhere. Since MLSs require licensed agents to post listings, you have to find a flat fee listing agent who will give you the kind of professional, competent, and wise counsel you need to do most of the work yourself. It can be done, and it is well worth it. But choose your flat fee listing agent carefully.
